Edgemont School Park Site

As the General Contractor, WCL developed the school park site in the Edgemont neighbourhood of Edmonton, prior to the new school build happening in 2026. This project was awarded to WCL after a proposal-based submission, which WCL proposed to complete the entire project within the 2025 construction season, rather than in 2026 and WCL was able to achieve this.

As the General Contractor, Weinrich Contracting Ltd. completed the site development including the following scopes of work:

• Premobilization documents including Traffic Accommodation Plans, ECO Plans, Site Safety Plans, Project Hazard Assessment, Emergency Response Plans and scheduling

• Site calibration, topographical survey, survey layout and as-builts

• Earthworks activities (approx. 90,000 m³) related to rough grading proposed lots including topsoil stripping and grading

• Installation of storm sewers, perforated subdrains and culverts

• Installation of power and light bases and poles

• Construction of asphalt and limestone surfaced shared use paths (820m, 290m)

• Construction of concrete pads and plaza for future playground

• Landscaping of sports fields and public green spaces (approx. 280 trees, 230 shrubs, 48,000m² seed area, 16,400m² sod area)

• Installation of chain link fence, backstops, soccer goal posts and site furniture

• Installation, maintenance of Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) measures

• Coordination with other adjacent construction projects to facilitate construction adjacent in the area
